I few days ago, my twitter feed notified me  that the novel that launched The Christmas Cookie Club series inspired a tradition.   Annette Hannah and Becca’s Books were gracious enough to let me share the story with you.

So here it is:

Christmas on Becca’s Books | Festive Reading Recommendation by Annette Hannah

A few years ago I read a book called The Christmas Cookie Club by Ann Pearlman and the sentiment of it really stayed with me. It was about twelve friends who met up every year at the beginning of December, and each would bring a recipe and thirteen batches of whatever the recipe was for.
The friends would exchange their wares so each would take home twelve different batches of goodies and there would also be twelve to donate to charity which I thought was a lovely idea.
Ever since reading it I have invited a couple of my friends around each year to bake one of the recipes with my daughter and I. The recipe we used was for the Christmas Cookie Trees and we have Christmas music playing in the background as we make them. We call it our Christmas bakeathon. When we have finished, we wrap them up in cellophane and ribbons so they look pretty. We may not make the most professional looking cookie trees but they are delicious and have helped us to create lovely memories.
